Research

Shishu Sarothi recognises the importance of research studies for creating empirical evidence of ground realities and proper documentation of work being done and measuring impact. Research Studies in the past have include the Scenario of employment of persons with disabilities in Assam and Meghalaya, SDG Tracker Studies on Disability. Ongoing research studies are being carried out on the ‘reach of Govt Schemes and Programs for persons with disabilities’ and ‘understanding gaps and needs in the disability scenario of NE India’. Other smaller research studies that are in the pipeline relate to assessing inclusive education strategies.

Additionally, efforts are being made to improve documentation of ongoing activities and programs in alternative ways by using audio visual medium (YouTube link to films), and social media as well as deploying different software (EI app, Punarjjani, Goonjan) to capture the experiences and learnings from ongoing programs and services.
