The Resource Centre was set up to address the widespread gaps in disability awareness and the fragmented, siloed efforts of agencies working in this space across the region. Functioning since 2023 as a cross-disability knowledge hub for Assam, North East India, and beyond, it builds the capacity of diverse stakeholders — parents, educators, persons with disabilities, NGO personnel, students, government functionaries, and others — through customised training programs, resource support, and consultations.
A number of such training programs have already been curated and conducted for varied groups, including parents, teachers, persons with disabilities, NGO personnel, students, and professionals as well. The Centre also undertakes research studies and works to promote disability-inclusive policies and practices, collaborating with other NGOs, institutions, and government bodies to strengthen collective knowledge-sharing on disability rights and inclusion.
The Centre continues to grow in scope, working toward a vision of equal access — one where disability inclusion is embedded not only in traditionally allied domains, but across fields not conventionally seen as having a disability mandate.
